ipod nano 7th gen syncs/breaks?

Post by Glueguy » Sun Nov 11, 2012 6:12 pm

I have a brand spanky new ipod nano 7th gen (the rectangular one).

I read the tips, and installed itunes & quicktime. Then turned off all the syncing options inside itunes.

Then I ejected the ipod, and exited itunes.

I start MM, unplug/plug the ipod and sync a small library (425 MP3 files, & a small playlist). MM seems happy. I can browse all the files in the various F** folders (they all have truncated names, but I assume this is correct).

I eject the ipod, select "Music", and it displays a message that says "no music". Huh?

So I exit MM, restart itunes, and gives me the error below.
iTunes cannot read the contents of the iPod "GEORGIA'S I. Go
to the Summary tab in iPod preferences and click Restore to
restore this iPod to factory settings
If I restore the iPod to factory settings, I can then sync music via iTunes. However, if I sync anything via MM it all goes to heck.

BTW - This is MM Gold 4.0.6.1501
ipod nano says 1.0.1 PC

Upgrade to MediaMonkey 4.0.7.1510: http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... 76#p350976 as it includes an iPod Nano 7th gen fix.

Thanks!

Just a quick question. Does editing a playlist on the iPod break synchronization?

Earlier last week I moved track in a playlist on the iPod. The next time I tried to sync, MM (4.1.0.1664) went through the motions but refused to copy or update anything on the ipod. I update a podcasts playlist daily. I restored the iPod in iTunes 11 and re synced everything. Every day since, sync has worked fine but I haven't edited playlists anymore on the iPod.
