The Motorola RIZR Z3 syncs correctly. I used the following settings:

Plug-In: d_USBMass1.dll
Sync tracks to: mobile\audio\

Note that the MediaMonkey-generated playlists aren't recognized by the RIZR Z3 without some hand-editing. You need to do the following:

1. In MediaMonkey, set destination directory to "\" (no quotes)

After syncing, make the following edits to the MediaMonkey-generated playlist located on the phone's root folder:

2. Prepend each entry with "b/" (no quotes).
3. Change backslashes to forward slashes.

For example, if the MediaMonkey-generated playlist has the following lines:

Code: Select all

mobile\audio\Ray Charles\The Very Best of Ray Charles\Drown in My Own Tears.mp3
mobile\audio\Ray Charles\The Very Best of Ray Charles\Georgia on My Mind.mp3
Change it to look like this:

Code: Select all

b/mobile/audio/Ray Charles/The Very Best of Ray Charles/Drown in My Own Tears.mp3
b/mobile/audio/Ray Charles/The Very Best of Ray Charles/Georgia on My Mind.mp3
You can also setup MediaMonkey to not copy playlists to the phone. That's what I do, now.

Thanks MediaMonkey!

-Rob

Mine works for music, but I never tried vids or pics.

I have an s615 though, which might be the upgrade to the one you mentioned. But if it works on the newer one, it probbaly works on the older one too?

Mediamonkey doesn't handle videos or pictures so it won't be able to sync those file types.

It would be nice if Media Monkey did do videos and pics.
Videos at least, since those are also media.

But for now, you can go through Windows Explorer and add or delete videos and pictures. Many devices show up as drives and I find it easier to just drag, drop, or copy files than using their slow sync software.

I was speaking of the devices slow software, NOT MM. It's great!!

My Creative Zen Stone (2GB) syncs fine with MM. Of course, there's not much to it though. It doesn't store playcounts. It just plays stuff!

My experience differs. Sending from MM to my Sansa M250 in Mass Storage Class mode gave playable tracks, but broken playlists. I wonder if the above reference was intended for Sansa eXXX devices only.

Name: Sandisk Sansa M250 V4.1.07E
Type: DAP with choice of MSC and MTP modes
Special configuration notes:
This is one of possibly many recipes that work:
1 ensure the device is in MTP mode (Settings | USB, <tick> Auto-detect)
2 Connect to PC, verify display says "Connected MTP"
3 Verify Explorer lists 'Sansa m250' - if not, try reinstalling/installing the Sansa drive (use Device Manager).
4 In MM click Tools | Options... , Sync to Portable Device. If you see two Sansa devices - "Sansa m250 d_WMDM.dll" and e.g. "SANSA M250 (P:) d_WMDM.dll" - select "Sansa m250" and click Configure.
5 Perform the workaround in http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... 870#146870

Known working capabilities of MM sync with this device:
* tracks and playlists to the device
* no others

This is one of possibly many recipes that work:
1 Connect to PC, verify display says "Docked"
2 Note: Explorer can fail to show "My Zen" with no ill effect on the following.
3 In MM click Tools | Options... , Sync to Portable Device, "My ZEN d_WMDM.dll" and click Configure.
4 Perform the workaround in http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... 699#147699

Known working capabilities of MM sync with this device:
* Auto-sync list tracks and playlists to the device
* Sync Selected tracks and playlists to the device
* Playcounts and ratings from the device

Known non-working capabilities of MM sync with this device:
* "Generate device Playlists for: " "Albums" (no visible playlists geenrated)
