Since I got my new computer (on Windows 7) I've been having trouble installing this. After I download, I open the ziped folder and double click on AdvancedDuplicateFindFixMM3 VBScript Script File. This brings up a "Windows Script Host" window with an Error of "Variable is undefined: 'SDB'. Source: Microsoft VBScript runtime error.

I've tried running MM as an administrator, but that doesn't help.

Apologies if this has been brought up before, but I couldn't find anything.

The script file you download should be named AdvancedDuplicateFindFix.3.7.4.mmip, which is a MediaMonkey Installation Package. But is is actually a renamed zip-file. If you see that file as a zip-folder then I guess Windows7 can sense that really is a zip-file and therefore tries to open it as such. To circumvent it, try to drag the file to the play-button in MM and it should install just fine.

Thanks for the info. I think I'm getting closer. You're right - Windows 7 must recognize this as a winzip file.

In any case, I tried your method and it didn't work. I tried dragging the "AdvancedDuplicateFindFix.3.7.4.mmip" file onto the Play button in MM. MM wouldn't allow this. In addition, I tried opening the file with MM, but instead of installing it, it tried to play the song.

Any other ideas? I've gotten this to work on Win 98 and Vista, so maybe it's a Windows 7 issue?

I'm on XP so I really don't know how Windows 7 works but a forum search came up with this:
viewtopic.php?f=6&t=44229&p=231096&hilit=associate+mmip#p231096

And this:
Right click on the file and select open with, associate the mmip to the mediamonkey.exe and then you should be able to install.

If nothing helps you can try to do a manual install by extracting AdvancedDuplicateFindFixMM3.vbs into your MediaMonkey\Scripts\Auto folder and restart MM.

I am not sure this is entirely a Win7 issue, I have had no troubles installing installation packages in Win7 or having them recognized as a winzip file. When you installed MM, did you install it as an administrator? Did you associate the files with MM? I did both and they work on both my 32 and 64 but Win7 installations.

Thanks all. When I put the file in Scripts\auto folder it worked perfectly. Nothing else seemed to work, although I tried all suggestions.

How to install "Advance Duplicate Find & Fix" addon?

Postby pt0731 » Fri Nov 19, 2010 10:02 am

I mistakenly reformatted my Western Digital "My Passport", (150 GB) drive from Fat32 to NTFS . This in essence deleted my active music dBase, which was stored on it.

I restored the music back on to the reformatted "My Passport" drive from a backup that was about 6 months old. So now MediaMonkey looks at this drive and sees two dBases:
• My new ReStored version (which is the active dBase) and
• A Subdued version (which is “not active”, but is the more robust version in terms of manually inputted Track Properties << I need to recover)

It was told that Advanced Duplicate Fine & Fix addon would help me find all the duplicates, allow me to copy data from the subdued to the active dBase and then delete the duplicates.

I download the mmip file using MediaFire. I installed it, but get the following error when I try to run it?
Windows Scrip Host
Script: C:\Prgm Files\MediaMonkey\Script\Auto\AdvancedDuplicateFineFixMM3.svb
Line: 16
Char: 18
Error: Variable is undefined: 'SDB'
Code: 800A01F4
Source: Microsoft VBSript runtime error

Does anyone have a suggestion to help me get it running?

I am running into a unique situation, the past week or so. Granted, it may be longer but not really sure.

Whenever I do a search for dups, either with this script or the deafault dup search, I get my normal list but it includes upwards of 200-500 dups of files that are not dups..To explain a bit better, the files are shown as dups but are like a mirror of each other. IE: c:\files\file.mp3 and c:\files\file.mp3.

I have checked the folders these files are in and they are not dups. Anyone have any ideas?

From what I tell it seems to be related to moving files, but the problem is that files that were moved show in the new location, as they should, but they show twice, in many cases. I just recently moved my retail mp3 folder to another drive, now I have about 20k of those tracks showing twice in the same location, even though there is only 1 copy of the file.

I did try a manual rescan and check for files no longer there. This did not change things. I am actually doing a new scan after a clear library, to see if that resolves the issue.

Script is updated!
Ver 3.7.5 (2010-11-28)
- Fixed "Variable is undefined: 'SDB'"-Error upon installation on Win7

Let me know if it works. I don't have Win7 so I can't test the fix but I added one line of code which should do the trick.

The update broke some major functionality of the script so it's removed

Enjoy!

Hi,

the copy and paste - great idea. But I have a problem. After the right click I see the copy and paste function greyed out. Have I done anything wrong?

My settings:
Windows XP
Medimonkey 3.2.4.1304
Advanced Duplicate 3.7.5

Thanks for any help

don't take it the wrong way harry333 but the only time i get that grayed out is when i forgot to select or click on the item.
i wanted to copy and paste.

if you did select it and it still grays out then try the keyboard buttons of control and c that will copy the selected item for you.

control and v will paste it for you. 8)

Thanks for the quick answer!

You are right, the "normal" copy and paste works fine but I look for the copy and paste function for the id tags!
