With or without leading zero

Post by cotp »

Hello there :)

I see with this extention we can find the tracks with or without leading zero, I would like to know what you use ?

Do you have your tracks by 01 02 03 04... or 1 2 3 4...

I guess if you chose the first solution it is better for sorting afterwards inside a folder through explorer ...

Other ideas or comments on that ?

All of my track tags do not contain the leading zero. This script (Case and Leading Zero Checker) is very good at helping you rid (or add) zeros to all of your track tags. http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... it=leading

However, I have configured my auto-organize mask to assign the file name a two digit track number (add a zero) so that the tracks are displayed in order in the directory. Here is the mask that I use"

Code: Select all

C:\Users\XXX\Music\Library\$MovePrefix(<Album Artist>)\<Album>\$If(<Disc#>,<Disc#>-,)<Track#:2> - <Title>
This mask results in a file path such as this when there is only one disc.
C:\Users\XXX\Music\Library\B.B. King\Live At The Regal\01 - Every Day I Have The Blues.mp3

And this when there are more than one discs.
C:\Users\XXX\Music\Library\Indigo Girls\1200 Curfews\1-02 - Least Complicated.mp3

I hope that helps.

Thanks gpzbc for sharing this and for your script and mask...

I was wondering something:

Can you explain to me why you made that choice ? Isn't it easier to have the leading zero ? Do you have an advantage to get rid of it inside MM ?

Thanks in advance,

I think it is just a matter of preference. It felt cluttered to me, and I could see no compelling reason to keep the leading zero in the tags.
But I imagine you could find an equal number of people who feel the exact opposite way. At some point, you just have to pick a method and stick with it.
Good luck!

Unfortunately not, perhaps MP3Tag can be set up to deal with it?

Tagging Inconsistencies Do you think you have your tags in order? Think again...
Play History & Stats Node Like having your Last-FM account stored locally, but more advanced.
Case & Leading Zero Fixer Works on filenames too!

Hi

Forgive my ignorance but once I've corrected an inconsistency, what do I need to do to remove it from the list?

Thanks

Hi there, I love TI. It makes cleaning up tags so much easier!! I have a couple of questions:

1. Is it possible to hide/delete unwanted 'main' nodes. I don't use ever Genres, for anything and would rather just not have this node visible at all.

2. Why do I get a different result between the 'No Album Art' node in TI and the 'Unknown AlbumArt' node in MM's Files to Edit ? TI doesn't seem to find all the tracks with missing albumart.

Cheers.

Thanks!

1. Currently not. I'll put it on the todo list.

2. TI's is per album, i.e. all tracks in an album need to lack Album Art to be seen here, the native node simply lists all tracks with no Album Art.

Hi there, Can someone please tell me what things I am looking for in the non-letter inconsistencies? I have some songs showing up that I cannot, for the life of me, see what is inconsistent. Cheers
