Remote Access to MM Over LAN

Postby Peke » Fri Aug 20, 2004 3:50 pm

Well,
1. This is only example and have lots of bugs :)
2. This is only example how MM can be accessed over COMObject
3. This is Third party app, without any support and distributed as is.
4. This Piece of software can't damage MM Lib in any way
5. In case of persisting bugs End App/Process will fix it ;)
6. Programmer will not take any responsibility for any damage :)
7. I only post this as thanks to all users of MM

Terms of use:
1. it works only over LAN (Remote Part)
2. Remote Server Name must be entered corectly before clicking remote commands
3. Mediamonkey Controls is used to control local instance only

Final Note: remote computer Name is name or IP of computer in LAN.

If you all agree with this, app can be downloaded from here.

Thanks all of you for using MM, and helping MM to evolve.

EDIT: Link Fixed.

Integrating controls on Web Pages

Postby Indi » Mon Nov 08, 2004 4:28 pm

Hi Peke. This little program works like a charm. How would we incorporate these controls onto a webpage? Is there any way to get the controls to "remember" the Remote Server Name (like a little .ini file)? What's the difference between the controls on the left and the right....they seem to do the same thing...both controlling MediaMonkey on the Remote Server?

This program is example only, how remote access to player can be done. Its done in Delphi 7 and it can be easyly made for Web. With little programing skils. I can send you the COM OBJ Component I have made for Delphi to see how this works.

re left-right: left side needs correct IP number or Server Name to work and right is for controling local instance of MM.

Remote Control ComObj

Postby Indi » Mon Nov 08, 2004 6:29 pm

Hi Peke...thanks for your response.....YES, please share your code. I'll have a look and see what I can do. Thanks for the offer.

Just FYI, seems like both the left and right controls in a window on a remote computer work to control MM on the server over the LAN.
