Vista Visual Studio 2008

Postby goos » Fri Feb 08, 2008 8:32 am

Hi

I am trying to play around with creating an external application. To do that as far as I have understand I need to add a reference to the MediaMonkey library. My problem now is that I can not fin the library in the COM tab.

I use Vista / Visual Studio 2008, and was trying to create a Windows Forms C# application.

Does anyone know what the problem could be?

Thanx goos

Hi, Goos,
I am not sure why, because I do not have Vista in my computer. The only thing I can say is that I do not have any trouble to use either C++ or C# express with the MediaMonkey Library COM object.
The only thing I know is that in order to register a COM object you need to be an administrator, so could this be the cause?
Sorry I cannot help any further.
Regards.

This is exactly what was the problem!

To register the COM object MediaMonkey has to be run as Administrator. After doing this once, the object is available ;-)

Thank you very much botijo!!

Thank you for this. This has been a huge headache for my iMonkey users....they think its something broken with my code but now I can point them to this thread to prove it!
