Twinbee,

Happy to hear it now works for you. I appreciate your feedback and suggestions. I kind of like the way it works now myself.
I know what you mean about deeper drop downs. I tried earlier on to get them deeper myself but wasn't successful. Now that I have a good working base I'll go back and look at that.

This loooks very handy, but I have a problem:

Notice how the placement of the drop downs blocks my ability to access the MM menu. I can't select the drop downs to drag them either.

Yes, that does look problematic. Is it docked to that location? Is it the first time you've used this?

MeMeMe,

A new version is available in post 1. The panel should now get docked to the bottom upon first time use. You should be able to re-dock it and have it persist there when you restart MM. Let me know what happens.

With the new version, the drop down didn't appear at all - though the script does have an option sheet.

Ah yes, forgot to let you know, I had added a check box in the options/eCustom/More Options to auto start eCustom but hadn't uploaded that version yet.

Of course you can start and stop it from Edit/eCustom.

After I clicked the new checkbox, and restarted it appeared and worked properly.

However, i can't start and stop it from the options pages. If I click the X on the docked form to close it down, I can't get it back without restarting MM (a minor inconvenience only).

Click Edit on the main toolbar. eCustom should be listed there and you should be able to turn it on or off right there. Let me know.

Great work Ray! All we need now is a .mmip installation package! :D

Thanks! I haven't made an installation package yet but I guess it's as good a time as any. I recall seeing some posts with some tools to facilitate it. I'm curious, what kind of data are you storing in the custom fields. Does eCustom meet your needs? Any other fields you'd like included? Do you use the one-click play option or just the classic MM flow control?

Latest version seems to cause MM to have a blank task in the MM status bar. See my screenshot...

If I remove eCustom.vbs it doesn't happen. 100% reproducible on my system. Teminating the task doesn't do anything. Any ideas Ray?

Stan9980,

Can you checkout the new version I just uploaded in post #1 ? I removed some code that interfaces with the progress bar, probably what you refer to as the status bar. I had it in there in the event I wanted to display some information there. The way it's supposed to work is that it allocates space on the progress bar but shouldn't displace other messages that MM itself my generate. For instance, when you click on node/playlist with many tracks in it you might see a 'reading tracks' message. With the code I had in the script you would just see the 'reading tracks' message in a different position on the bar. Since you didn't post an image with the way your progress bar looks without eCustom installed I couldn't positively this will fix that. Give it a try and let me know. If it's still a problem would you post an image with the way it looks without eCustom installed?

Ray

PS regarding the installation package - I don't have url to insert in the forum/post. Do you know how I can upload a file here?

Hi Ray,

Yes, the new version has fixed it.

The previous version did play nicely with other tasks in the progress/status bar, for example when checking podcasts, the progress bar would show the podcast progress and the section for eCustom progress, but as I said it showed the eCustom progress all the time instead of "going away" when nothing was happening, see screenshot below...

As for the PS, I don't think you can upload files. I think most people use their own webspace (that's how I've done the screenshots I've included) or something like mediafire.com

Thanks for the quick fix! :D
