Change in embeded album art is not reflected on itunes
1) Sync a song from MM to itunes
2) Embed in tag new album art
3) Re-sync.
The new album art doesn't appear on itunes. In some cases it wont even pick that the song changed but even if it does (I forced that by changing another field) album art is not changed in itunes

Have you got it set in MM so that the file timestamp is updated when attributes are changed?

If so then please collect some debug information at level 3. Instructions in the manual.

Can anyone help me out with a link to download the old (MM3 compatible) version? Thanks.

I see people asking if they're using NAS for their files but haven't actually seen anyone say what needs to be done if you are.

I've been trying to find a work around since my NAS stopped being compatible with itunes with the to upgrade last fall. Still haven't found an efficient way of loading ipods/iphones that I'm happy with so MM was my next try.

I haven't been able to get the plugin to work but I'm not sure if it's the NAS/itunes incompatibility or my incompetence for this sort of thing. The plugin will show that my playlist has been synced to it but that's as far as I can go. What's supposed to happen next? Do those files actually show up in itunes (which is never going to happen with my NAS) or am I leaving a step out?

I fail to see how iTunes can be incompatible with your NAS. Please elaborate.

Most of the NAS questions are in here because the MMiTunesCache folder is often large and users do not want it on their local C: drive.

Have you read the manual?

He's probably referring to the fact that most NAS devices use mt-daapd (aka Firefly Media Server) to advertise the music library to iTunes, but iTunes 10.5 broke compatibility:

https://discussions.apple.com/thread/33 ... 0&tstart=0

The real rub there is that mt-daapd has gone dormant and hasn't been updated for years. There are compatible DAAP servers (forked-daapd, Tangerine) out there, but installing those on a NAS device can be difficult. And none of them run on Windows, although that's kind of irrelevant since most NAS devices are Linux-based.

Either way, it doesn't really seem to have any bearing on the iTunes plugin, at least not that I can see.

Does anyone know (or have tried) this plugin with the new iOS (5.1) that Apple is rolling out? Learned my lesson in the past about jumping on the newest iOS and breaking MM and the important plugins (this one being the most important..). :D

Can't tell you about iOS5 (my older iPhone 3G can't run it), but I'm syncing with MM with iTunes 10.6.0.40 asI type this.

edit: And now I'm syncing my 3G with iTunes. So, as far as I can see, it works normally. :D

I'm running the current version of the plugin with the latest version of iTunes (10.6) and getting thousands of exception errors. There are multiple entries for each track in the sync'd playlists, one example provided:

d_itunes4.dll 2357 5:06:01 AM EXCEPTION Nil response from iTunes for AddFile G:\MM_iTunesCache\00290211HomeServer...ArtistTrackmp3.mp3
d_itunes4.dll 2357 5:06:01 AM EXCEPTION AppViaCOM (CoiTunesApp.Create) EIntfCastError Interface not supported

I have run the sync a few times in hopes that iTunes would update the library, but it wants to sync every single track instead of just sending the updates. Assuming Apple didn't do anything too onerous with their interface restrictions, would clearing the iTunes library be of any benefit? I'd rather not do that because it will mean another multi-day mass update.

For what it's worth, the first time I used the plugin was almost a year ago with an earlier version of MM and I was seeing behavior that looked like a memory leak. Once the MM memory utilization hit about 800-850MB it stopped responding on a 64-bit Win7 machine with a quad core AMD Athlon II and 8GB RAM. So I really hope there's something that can be done to tweak the plugin for this new version of iTunes.

I've got this plugin working as I think it should on one computer, syncing to iTunes (and an iPod nano 6). However on a second computer, identical version of iTunes, same iPod, nothing happens. I put a few albums into the autocheck list, and on the second computer when I do an autosync, I get notice "Synchronizing ... (Preparing list of files)" but nothing actually happens. Nothing shows up in iTunes, and I can't find the MMiTunes folder having been created anywhere. What's wrong?

I have strange problem. My library is combination of mp3 , flac and m4a (aac files comming from iTunes). I have only one rule to convert flac files to mp3 since iTunes doesn't recognize flac files. This works correctly. However every aac file is converted to mp3 128kb (originals are in 256) without any rule.

Have you got an implicit rule to convert unsupported types to 128kb?
Set the supported types to be "MP3" and "M4A" for the device.

The plugin communicates to iTunes. iTunes communicates to the iPhone. I assure you that Apple ensure that their products work together very well. There has NEVER been an iOS release that has not worked with iTunes.

It was the iOS4 upgrade that drove me to write this plugin in the first place

I believe that the message comes from the settings page for the plugin. I don't know exactly what causes it. Some plugins work fine despite the message but you can't adjust the settings.

As MM doesn't officially support OSX there isn't alot which we can do about it.
