Since the 4.30 upgrade and upgrading to MM 4.1.0.1661 I now get an error from Discogs:

Error 424 microsoft vbscript runtime error

I found the bug and removed it. Please download the new Version 4.3.1

Ok I have big big issue :'(

There is no Way to tell that some info is not saved at all to Custom Fields EG there is no way to to tell DO NOT SAVE THAT info.

I for example use Some custom fields for other data and really would like not to mess them. Please add NONE to selection of Custom Fields.

Since Version 4.3 you can choose "Don't Save" in the Options of Discogs Tagger. The Script need only a custom field for the release-number. For the other info's (catalog number, release country, etc) you can choose "Don't save"

Hi, has anyone got an idiots guide to loading the Discogs Tagger 4.32 (Updated: 2013-10-06). I am not having any luck with the MM addons instructions page, far too techincal for my skills! I had this addon installed until a recent crash forced a full reinstallation of MM and its such a valuable tool.

I will try to write an easy guide for installing and using the Discogs Tagger :

1. Download the Script from the Addon Page : http://www.mediamonkey.com/addons/brows ... gs-tagger/
2. After starting the Installation you see a window asking you for choosing tags :


Depending on the Discogs Tagger Version you used before you have to set the following tags :

Version 3.3 and lower :

release-number -> Custom 1
catalog number -> Custom 2
release country -> Custom 3
media format -> Custom 4

Version 3.4 and above :

release-number -> Custom 2
catalog number -> Custom 3
release country -> Custom 4
media format -> Custom 5

If you don't know which version you used before, just take a look in the properties of a song in mediamonkey. If the Custom 1 field containing only numbers then you used Version 3.3 or lower. If the Custom 1 fields empty you used 3.4

3. After that the installation is finished and you can use the script as always.

Some options on the left side show a hint if you pause the mouse over it. Just play with the options and watch the result on the right list.

Just ask if you have more questions about the using of the script. I know there are many options..

Add Don't save for genre.

Genre and Style will only be saved if the checkboxes are checked, like any other tags.


I just realize that for catalog number, release country and media format the "Don't Save" in options are useless, cause there are checkboxes for them too.
I delete the "Don't Save" for them in the next release...

The Discogs Tagger won't save Producer tags for me.
The Producer credits are not showing up in the Discogs Tagger either.
I have verified the catalogue number and producer credits on the website.

Also, it would be great if you could switch through releases that are filed under a Master Release as some releases don't have credits on Discogs.

Okay, i got it.

Open the options in MediaMonkey and select Discogs Tagger on the left side. In the producer field on the right side you have to enter the following :

Producer,Arranged By,Recorded By

Save the options and open the Discogs Tagger again.
