If we get more people to request that useful feature we might get heard by the Discogs folks

I get a message saying that after august 15th you will need an account with discogs. I signed up but can't seem to input an account on MM through the extensions preferences. What can I do to get this feature to work?

Just start Discogs Tagger and confirm the message. After that the discogs webpage should appear. Please log in. Follow the instruction on the screen.

What I do in these cases, when there are many releases and I'm looking for a specific one is to open the album link and then, on the browser, I open all releases in new tabs, so I can cycle them fast. When I find the one I want, I use the release number back on the tagger. It's not ideal, but easier than waiting for discogs tagger to load 30+ albums one by one.

I never had this issue. I don't have a discogs account and I keep using the tagger normally. In fact, it's been a long time since it even asked me for authentication. Not sure if I needed to authenticate even once this year.

You need a discogs account. Without it you can't tagging with Discogs. Authentication ist only once needed.

Yes, apparently I do have a discogs account. Probably created it just for the script then. Didn't even remember it anymore
Still, I haven't needed any re-auth for a very long time.

Everything was running fine up until a couple days ago, was going through tagging my music when Discogs decided to stop working. I have tried every possible fix I could find, very frustrating.

Just go into the mediamonkey options -> discogs-tagger and delete the access token and the acces token secret.
after that, start the discogs tagger again and re-authenticate. This should help.

Is there a way to authenticate without the need for Internet Explorer? (I'm getting VBS runtime error #429)

(My Windows 7 installation steadfastly refuses to let Internet Explorer install properly following a Windows Update failure a few years back. I can't really justify a clean reinstallation of Windows 7 just for a MM Addon )

You need the internet Explorer not only for authenticate. Without IE the addon wouldn't work, sorry

You can't change it. If the album tag of the selected songs is empty, the script use artist - title.

Even with empty album tag the - title will be ignored.
