This script also didn't install into the Reports menu for me. And I had to customize the code that I put into the Scripts.ini

Find the last ScriptType=1 and paste this code after that.

Code: Select all
[AdvancedReport]
FileName=AdvancedReport.vbs
ProcName=AdvancedReport
Order=6
DisplayName=Advanced Report
Description=Advanced Report
Language=VBScript
ScriptType=1

You may need to change Order=6 to another number. It should be the next number after the one in the last ScriptType=1 section. It was 5 in my case but if you have other reports installed it may be higher. Make sure MM is closed when you do this. It's working a treat for me now.

Any idea why this stopped working? I remember installing it in the previous version, and on Windows XP, but now with the latest version and Win 7 it's not working.

If you don't have raised privileges then the Scripts.ini file cannot be edited by the installation package, or it creates a version in the VirtualStore sometimes instead.

Hello Trixmoto!
Congrats again for the Advanced Report - Plugin - for me one of the best! I have a small question right now - is it hard work to display some statistcs at the beginning of the generated HTML-Pages??? Something like top 5 of the latest albums or top 5 of the highest rated albums or top 5 of the most listened albums, etc. - And maybe a start.html - Page could be generated for the Frameset-Type - with the TITLE as a Headline...

-h1- My Discography -/h1-

-p- My 5 brandnew albums -/p-

Think, that would be a nice feature if you share your discography with other people - so they can see what's new in the discography!
If you like - I'll do the HTML-Stuff - my VBS-knowledge is too poor that I wouln't try it by my own...
Cheers

p.s.: if you need help for other plugins with HTML let me know...

I agree. This would be fantastic. I would love to have the option to view all recent additions to my library. It would be even better to be able to specify a date range for what is "new."

Well, sounds great - maybe a big step for the 6.0! As for me - I would be satisfied with top5 lastest albums & the top 5 favourites!
The Backend of the advanced report is very complex - I don't know if there must be another input for a date-range (and in the worst case you have a date range from 1900 to 2010 you'll get all you albums - don't know how long the script will need for that - maybe it's easier and faster only to select Top5, Top10 of Top20!
;-)

But I am glad that there is a positiv feedback!
Thanx ...

I have installed this script but I cannot find any way to activate it in MM. It does not appear in the reports menu or for that matter anywhere else apart from being listed in the extensions. I am running MM 3.2.1.1297 in XP Pro SP3. What have I done wrong?

You may need to manually update the "Scripts.ini" file with the lines at the top of the script file - sometimes this part of the installation fails, or it's written to the VirtualStore instead of the real file.

Many thanks Trixmoto, altered scripts.ini file easily even for a luddite like me. Great script, you deserve the MM communities highest honour.

Any idea as to why there's no entry in the MM menu for this script? I used the installer from your website and verified that the script is in the proper directory (same on as all the other scripts) but it refuses to show up :\
