Add-On Versions

Post by KyleHxAgain »

I'd been checking the main add-on download directory regularly, looking for any updates.
I hadn't been looking here, expecting it to be about support.
It seems there are a great many outdated files in the add-on download section.
Is there a central place for current versions, or at least a list of such.
(The retired post, above, seems to would have done it, unfortunately).

Best thing to do is go to Tools/Extensions and then select check for update ... it will tell you if you have any out of date

It's up to the Addon creator to submit updates to the Addon site.

Yes, I have mentioned this before that the forum section needs to be named something different from "Need Help with Addons?"

"Addons" would be fine, as this is where all the newest (and old) addons reside and this is where I get mine even if I don't need help. Very deceiving for newcomers. :-?
And I am sure people would know where to come if they need help with addons anyway. To the "Addons" section. :)

Interesting.

But you'll probably have to come up with a different name than just Addons, as the officially endorsed/featured Addons page is called Addons at
the top of the site which can then reroute to a page with download or help for that addon.

Could be confusing to see two things with the same name - one limited (endorsed/featured) and the other not, but possibly fuzzy as to what all
it offers (Need Help With.....).

Maybe something like "Addons in Depth"

I can't tell ...
Does "Help | Check for updates" also do Add-Ons?
