delete specific files with bitrate less than a range

Hi,

asked support and they told me this would be a manual process - then decided to ask forums as they know what goes on I hope.

I have heaps of duplicate music files that are the same artist/songitile but with different bitrates.

I would like to delete any with a bitrate over under 320 if there are any. If there are duplicate title/artist combos but none > 320 I just want to keep the highest bitrate.

Is that possible with a script of some sort? And can you supply it?

Joe

If installing is your issue: http://www.mediamonkey.com/support/inde ... ns--addons

If using is your issue, ask specific questions in either Addons topic on how to use it.

Hi,
When listing Duplicate titles you can sort By Bitrate and batch Delete.

Metadata only method to determine duplicates are know to have low accuracy rate as tracks can have duplicate metadata but actually be completely different tracks.

I just checked on my MMW test Library and I've found aprox 1000 tracks that are listed as duplicates with lower Bitrate and are actually different versions of same songs, some are duets/covers/remixes/live/different performers (classical music) and so on.

There was no way to MMW know which are actual duplicates without physically listen songs and decide which one to keep.
