MediaMonkey for Android 1.0.4.233 Test build

Post by rusty »

Hi,

Here's a new test build that adds support for double-clicking on headset buttons, and fixes volume leveling along with 10 other issues. The main issues that we're still working on are the intermittent connectivity failures for sync/UPnP and bluetooth playback. IMPORTANT: Volume leveling fixes require that the newest MediaMonkey for Windows beta build 4.1.1.1697 be installed.

Test note: in this build, the Send Debug Logs function has been moved to 'About MediaMonkey'.

The MMA build should appear on the Google Play store shortly, but if you can't wait or have a device that can't access the Google store, we've also posted a link to the apk.

Changelog Download Installation:
  • - If you've sideloaded previous versions of the MediaMonkey apk, sideload the current version on top.
Test Notes:
  • - The beta builds include all functionality, but expire after 15 days. Note that certain functions may become pay-only features at the end of the beta cycle.
    - To test wireless synchronization with MediaMonkey, you'll need to install MediaMonkey 4.1, available here.
Enjoy and please let us know what you think! And please rate MediaMonkey for Android (Beta) if you like it!

Hi,

Here's a new test build that improves a couple of bluetooth items, and fixes a playlist sync regression introduced into the last build. Note that MediaMonkey for Windows 4.1.1.1700+ must be installed for Wi-Fi Synchronization due to fixes re. playlist order and due to fixes re. intermittent inability to connect to the server. If all goes well, we hope to release in ~ a week.

Test note: in this build, the Send Debug Logs function is in 'About MediaMonkey'.

The MMA build should appear on the Google Play store shortly, but if you can't wait or have a device that can't access the Google store, we've also posted a link to the apk.

MediaMonkey for Android 1.0.4.240 has been released!

Post by rusty »

Hi,

Just a brief note that MediaMonkey for Android 1.0.4 has been officially released on the Google Play store! Thank you so much to our beta testers for helping us get to this point--it's been a long time coming.

Practically, this doesn't mean much for you our beta testers, but it's a big milestone for us as we're releasing MMA as a non-beta build on Google Play today. It should appear live within a few hours...

What's next?
- New beta builds should be coming up in the near future--there are a couple of items that we want to fix for a 1.0.5 release, and then focus on some new features in a 1.1 release.
- MediaMonkey Pro, which has been on sale for some time for existing users and beta testers will revert to its regular price. If you've been holding off--get it today
- We'll begin work on getting MMA posted to the Amazon store (and perhaps others)

Technical info for beta testers:
The regular and beta versions cannot co-exist on the same device. If you want to continue testing new beta builds, don't bother switching. But if you don't want to live on the leading edge, with its attendant risks and benefits, then you'll need to uninstall the mma beta, and then install the regular version (most settings should be retained).

Happy Monkeying!

MediaMonkey for Android 1.0.5.248

Post by rusty »

Hi,

We're beginning a new round of testing for MediaMonkey 1.0.5. The first build includes a number of stability fixes, an initial stab at support for external storage on kitkat devices (we're still working on that), plus other fixes to the equalizer, bluetooth, a couple of sync fixes, and improved support for some cyanogen devices.

Also, just a heads up to our beta testers that we plan on migrating beta testing to the official Google Play beta framework. This means that the "MediaMonkey Beta" product will eventually shut down, and instead there'll be a beta track for the regular "MediaMonkey" product in the Play store. Sorry if that's confusing--We're making this change mainly because support for external storage on kitkat devices can't preserve information between 2 different ('MediaMonkey' vs 'MediaMonkey Beta') apps. The impact is that when this change occurs, you'll have to uninstall the MediaMonkey Beta, and install the MediaMonkey build, and if you're using a kitkat device with external storage, you'll have to resync.

Enjoy and please let us know what you think!
