Hi,
I am very happy that we now have a beta version of MMA.

Here is what I am seeing.

I cannot seem to get my play counts to reflect back in my Media Monkey Database.


I see the device when syncing wirelessly on my android.
For my test, I picked a playlist that has 10 songs from 2 albums by same artist. I played 1 song in playlist and verified the play count. It was 20. I deleted 1 song from playlist on my android. Then sync. It looks like it then downloads all songs from playlist but replaces artwork for both albums with the same from one of them.

I went back to media monkey to see if the play count changed. Still the same. Play count for that song is 20.

The deleted song is back on my android but with wrong artwork.

Did you do a wifi sync or USB sync?

Tried both. The above was tested via wi fi.

Did you play the file(s) all the way through on MMA? I've checked with one file and it worked for me.

I started fresh.

Created a new playlist called test with 1 song.
Went into options, picked the playlist to sync in "Auto Sync To This Device".
Click Sync No
It downloads the song.
Checked play count 230
I played the song in it's entirety
Sync again
Check play count still at 230.

What is the difference between "Auto Sync To The Server" and "Ato Sync To This Device".

I do not wish to upload songs back to the server, just play counts. Maybe this is the issue?

I have this disabled as well.

I think this is a use case for many of us.

-- Media Library in MMW.
-- Synch Tracks to MMA
-- Play Songs on MMA
-- Synch back Song Ratings and Play Counts Only

I think this is probably best handled outside of ID3 tags, where MMA would save the ratings and playcounts in a database file (if not already doing so) and then synch only these back rather than the full files.

I believe that it works like that already.

I just tried it with my Galaxy Nexus via both WiFi and USB/MTP and the changes are reflected correctly in MMW, I see the file in the Last 50 Played playlist.
Could you generate standard debug log of MMW (by using DbgView) while syncing so that we could see why it doesn't work for you?

I'm not sure how to generate a debug file. Can you give me a quick post back as to how to do it?

Hi, I found out that actually it could be caused by this issue http://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=10134 that will be fixed in build 1610.

Thanks, I'll wait for that release. Work is expecting me to actually work on stuff they pay me for anyway.

I originally posted this as part of a thread which has now turned into AVRCP 1.3 functionality, so i've created a separate thread for this.
Basically, when I sync via usb the stats are not updating in MMW.

i'm back with some results
here's what I did to test

Phone: HTC One X [CM10 SE2.0 edition (JellyBean)]
OS: Windows 7 SP1 x64
MMW: 4.1 (unregistered, my reg info is at home so i've not enabled "gold" functionality)
MMA: 1.0.1.0072_debug

1. Installed new MMA [MediaMonkey_1.0.1.0072_debug] on phone, removed old version first.
2. cleared app data
3. configured MMW to sync to MMA via USB. (Note: I am unable to configure the wifi sync at this point as i'm not on a wifi network)
4. Performed autosync in MMW, waited for files to copy over to phone
5. Disconnected phone, started MMA app.
6. Listened to an entire album on phone
7. Reconnected phone to USB, started MMW, Performed Autosync (automatic)
8. Selected "recently played" playlist. No files in recently played list

Problem: I see no played tracks from MMA after USB Autosync?
