24bit FLAC not supported anymore.

Post by paku » Mon Mar 24, 2014 2:54 pm

Before the last two updates (1.0.4.233 & 1.0.4.236, I think) I was able to play my 24bit FLACs without big problems. The only odd thing was the timeline showing a duration of 3~ hours for each song. However they just played for the right duration and played the next song after that, just like regular FLACs would.
But now, since the 2 updates were released, I'm not able to play them at all (the timeline is fixed now, though, yay..). MMA just gives me an error saying "Unsupported format" when I try to open those FLACs.

Hi,

Does Google Play play the tracks in question (mma relies on the devices codecs)? If yes, can you please:
- send me a link to a sample track with this problem
- post a debug log of the issue to the forum (About > Send debug log)
- let us know what device you're using and what version of Android

fyi, I tested this out on a Nexus5(Android 4.4)/Nexus7(Android 4.3) and the tracks play. But on an SG3 (running Android 4.1), 24-bit flac files wouldn't play in MMA or in Google Play. In other words, it was a problem with the codec on the device.

Let me know.

Thanks!

-Rusty
