Chromecast Audio supports 24-bit/96kHz, and has an digital optical out. I'd love to see MMA cast to it!

I'm about to buy a Chromecast Audio device, so I'm more interested than ever in MMA Chromecast support.

Does casting support playback of local media? If you use Google Play Music to play something from local storage, does that get cast?
I thought the point of casting was to open a streaming channel between the Chromecast device and the service; once it's playing, you can turn the phone off and playback continues from the Chromecast.

It would be terrific if MMW' could augment its UPnP server with a cast server, with MMA setting up the channel.

Chromecast can be used to stream media from the local device (there are several Apps that do this). I'm also using another App to cast from a NAS on the network. I hope MMA will be able to stream both local and MMW content to a Chromecast device.

It's on the to do list for 1.2 -- we're really trying to close off the 1.1.3 release.
