Sync to new phone problem .. plenty of storage

Post by dtsig »

got a new sg8+ with a 64gig card. First i started to sync with the list from my sg5 ... just music. But some times it tried to download videos?? I created a new list with just music and that problem seems to be gone but now it occasionally stops saying there isn't enough space on the 64gig card. The playlist is only 29gig in size.
I will get a debug log number the next time it happens but was wondering if anyone had seen anything like this?
mmw 1836
mma 699

NOTE: i just restarted it and it is now at 57/4695

I have started the sync again ... swipe the screen so it doesn't time out and have now gotten more downloaded that the 2 other tries ..
this will get tiresome

I have noticed that after 5 or so minutes i start the display again and it looks like mma is frozen mid sync. then after a few seconds it starts up again ...

I think my post was moved ... hmmm
id: EQMCSBNISL
I let it run for a couple of hours and when i turned the display back on there was a message it ran out of space. In the background the sync display said it downloaded 6400 tracks. When I go to the playlist it says 1422 tracks.
I have started the sync again but this is a problem. any ideas?

The fifth try it brought in all but 40 .. no error.
I am now bringing in those 40 without a problem.
Something odd is going on

Hi DTsig,

To make sure I'm understanding correctly: you're doing a WiFi sync for the entire 29GB ?

Thanks.

Yes. It finally completed the 5-6th try. the first ones gave a message there wasn't enough space though it was a new 64gig card. the last couple of tries just stopped with no error message. the last try finally worked so ..

So I have checked the log. I really see that it failed due to unsufficient free space. But I do not see exactly the cause because the log is not so long. I really see that there were 48 GB of free space when the sync stopped. But I don't know why the free space check failed when the tracks were downloaded.

I have significantly reduce the log amount in build 702 so I can see it next time. Would you be so kind and try it again? I know that it is probably a long time process.
