Pre-Amp on Equaliser not working

I'm currently modifying an equaliser for additional bass, and I needed to turn down the pre-amp volume to not get the choppy sound. However, the pre-amp failed to alter the volume, and the audio sounded garbled.

Addendum (can't edit): The entire equaliser sounds unlike the settings I've placed for the desktop MediaMonkey version. The inclusion of intensified 63 and 125 seem to make the bass and treble sound worse than it used to be, compared to the improved bass on the desktop version.
