Prevent screen from waking on new track

When I use MMA it will always wake the screen and show me the lockscreen when a new track starts playing. Is there an option to turn this off?

You may have enabled a setting on Android to do this, I don't think MMA has a setting for this and it doesn't do it here.

I get a black & white version of the notification every time the track changes. That's definitely an Android setting.

Try going to Android settings --> Display --> Ambient Display.
In there I have an option to wake the screen when I receive notifications. If you don't have an Ambient Screen section then it's probably somewhere else within the Display settings.

Hmz, I do have ambient display but it's set to off so that isn't it.
