I havent figured out if showing lyrics is something that mp3s and audio files are designed to handle (withing tags or metadata), or if it is done via means of plugins
I mainly play files on my android phone. So can i use mediamonkey are some plugin to inject lyrics somehow?
Also are the lyrics timestamped, or i will only see a stack of text altoegether
Is there some widely accepted lyrics format with proposed guidelines
Is lyrics a native mp3 function or a hack?

Lyrics can be saved as part of the file metadata for most file types. MMW does this when you add Lyrics. MMA can't read Lyrics from file on its own (yet), but has online lookup available. It will only be saved to the MMA database (only sync with MMW will save it to files on PC and then sync back with files on MMA).
MediaMonkey doesn't do timed Lyrics.
