What do you set as track number for files that have no logical track number?

Tracks that have no track number, what to do?

Post by meatlump » Thu May 31, 2007 10:47 pm

I've got some tracks that aren't from an album (CD) and so have no track number. These include sound clips from TV or movies and comedic bits recorded from radio shows.

Leaving track number blank (0) causes these tracks to be listed under "files to edit", setting them to "1" may cause other listing idiosyncrasies (depending upon album name).

How do you handle track number for these tracks?

Thanks for your input!

There are three kinds of people in the world. Those who can count and those who can't.

I leave them blank, no zero, no nothing.
They are not part of an album so therefore do not have a track number.

I leave them all blank. I don't really care about "files to edit" because that node contains way too much tracks anyway (EDIT: for me anyway :) ).

Files which don't have an album, don't get a track#, Files with Album and no Track# will be numbered all the way through.

I number them (with Auto-increment script) in the order I want them to play.

Another reason to number them is to avoid the "00-title" when using Auto-Organize and device synchronization.

I would call it an "house made" album
