Dear forum members,
I’m new to MediaMonkey and I’m impressed by the many great features that this program offers.
My goal is to digitalize my entire CD collection (approx 1.000 titles) in FLAC format.
After some experiments with tagging, ripping, audio levelling (is 89 dB the reference level??) and so on I would like to ask all of you forum members what you would recommend as "My best settings for FLAC ripping"
I would be very pleased to read your settings, rip field setup, tagging etc... in order to achieve the very best results.
Also I would like to rip the unique CD product code (number) but I failed to do this so far.
Thank you all very much for your recommendations!
Best wishes,
Werner

Re: All time best settings for FLAC ripping
I am doing the same with my music collection, only that I standardize myself on the mp3 V0 (VBR ~ 240 bps) standard. However for the best quality rips you can make, I learned that EAC (Exact Audio Copy, a free ripper - http://exactaudiocopy.de/) with the LAME mp3 encoder plugin (also freeware - http://lame.sourceforge.net/index.php) is the best option. So I would not suggest ripping it with other software. The Hydrogen audio forums (http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/forums/index.php) are supposed to be your best info in regards to making high quality rips as well.
There is also a nice guide on how to config EAC, even if you want to set it up for FLAC ripping instead of mp3 ripping :
http://jiggafellz.isa-geek.net/jiggafel ... udio-copy/
So IMO, EAC (+LAME for mp3s) to rip the music and then MediaMonkey to organize and manage your library and play the music.

Re: All time best settings for FLAC ripping
This is the best guide:
http://xs.vc/eac/
MediaMonkey will most likely support secure ripping in the feauture, and hopefully EAC elements will be present.

I use compression level 8.
Is there any other setting to worry about?
