button to clear the search box...

Postby Stasis096 » Tue Jan 26, 2010 1:55 pm

I would love to have a little button appear within the search box once you start typing a search that you could then click on to instantly clear your search (itunes has this incredibly useful functionality).

In mediamonkey to clear the search results, you have to click within the box, highlight the search string, and then hit the backspace or delete button. It's takes two more steps then it needs to.

Also a small button to take you to the currently playing song is a must for me. I have brought that up before as well (it's just too hard sometimes to scroll to the currently playing song within Mediamonkey).

You can use a hotkey to go to the Now Playing song, check out Tools > Options > Hotkeys.

From my experience that hotkey doesn't work when the song that is currently playing is being filtered out when browing through the track browser. Also the hotkey doesn't work for me when i'm in album art view. The hotkey is very limiting.. i want a button where if i press it, no matter where i am within the program, it's going to highlight that song that playing and unfilter the songs if necessary. The hotkey is NOT a good solution to me.

so a hotkey to open the now playing window in an undocked postion and auto scroll to the current loaded song is what you seem to be in need of. sounds like a script author might be a better person to do this feature as it sounds more like opening a child window for lyrics or other thing they are doing already.

maybe one will get it working for you soon? :D

+1
Edit the MediaMonkey.ini is only a workaround. Pressing DEL on unwanted/no more needed search box entries would be much more user friendly.

That's a different issue and a double post: viewtopic.php?p=335686#p335686
