Hi,
I have a lot of samplers and corresponding albums of thoses artists.
Consequently I have lot of duplicates.
When I start to eleminate the duplicates, I irrevocably destroy the structure of all affected albums exept one.
There are no stubs that point to the last remaining file in the media folders.
I would like to presereve the information about the specific properties (album, track#, date etc.) of a deleted file.
What do you think about that:
The archive entry will not be deleted but the location of the media-file is linked to an other selectable location (via symlinks?) .
OK, that information have to be static, they can not be synced withe the file tags an vice versa.
That would also dispense with the switching of files in playlists when deleting duplicates.
Greetings
Timo

Re: Preserving archive entries of deleted duplicates
If you delete the file outside of MediaMonkey this could be accomplished.
