Windows Timer Resolution at 1ms in idle waste battery

Post by randomUser »

Dear Developers,

I noticed that mediamonkey is now the only program on my computer that sets the windows timer resolution to 1ms. I don't now if this is on purpose, but it waste battery power on laptops. (it basically wakes up the cpu 1000 times a second, instead of 66 times.

Details to the problem can be found here: https://randomascii.wordpress.com/2013/ ... ts-wasted/

If the resolution is necessary for high quality audio play, than please set it back to 15 ms when Audio playing is paused!

Thanks!

Thanks, we'll look into it, I never realized that this might be an issue in MM. Will post results here...
