MM3: problems with Umlauten while tagging from amazon

Post by GuHu » Sun Dec 23, 2007 2:43 am

Hello,

just another thing which worked well mith MM 2:

Tagging from amazon has problems with at least german umlaute:

All Umlaut lets vanish the digits after them. See as an example the cd "Best of 1190-2005" from "die fantastischen vier":
Track 5 is called "Böse". MM 3 makes it to "B"
Track 12 is transformed from "Zu geil für diese Welt" to "Zu geil fse Welt"

With regards, Guido

I tested this particular album and e.g. 'B' is exactly what we get when we query Amazon (I guess you mean Amazon.de), so it must be some problem on Amazon side.

Jiri,

thanks for the answer. I do not think that this is a problem with Amazon(.de) since there is no problem with MM 2.5

Just tried with MM 2.5 and the very same album really has a track title 'B' (as expected, since it's really in the data received from Amazon.de).

This is an old problem I've experienced since about 6 months. It's definitely on Amazon.de's side... and it's pretty annoying.

,Ok, since I did not have the problems formerly, I suggest that this is a problem of MM3, actually it seems to be a problem with amazon.

Update:

I had some communication with Amazon. They fix the problem. Now, Umlaute can be seen at Amazon (for an increasing number of albums ...).

Unfortunately, the problem is still in MM3:

See as an example "Ich + Ich" (Artist) , "Vom Selben Stern" (Album).

I tried the german Amazon page. In the browser, everthing is fine on the Amazon page, in MM3 no Umlaute are there.

:(
