Audio Library error: 3.1.2.1280 build and previous

Post by Danichan »

With every build, even the lates, I get the message:
MediaMonkey - Audio Library has stopped working

Removing the Ipod and Iphone.dll doesn't change the problem.
I'm using Windows 7, 64 bit.

!! The interesting part is that I only get this message with the standard version, but with the Non-skinned version I have no problems and everything works great.
I'm only missing the eye-candy.

With me the process is terminated automatically. I actually get the message every time, as long as I'm running the skinned version. No exceptions.
I don't have any problems (and I mean any) with the non-skinned version.

Okay, then it's probably not the same. I'd jet get that error message. MM would freeze (and get a normal window border around it). However, even when the message would go away, I could not actually exit MM. At all.

What if you start MM as admin? In Win 7 you can do it easily:
hold Ctrl+Shift and click the MM icon in taskbar.

Need help? Got a suggestion? Can't find something?

Please no PMs in reply to a post. Just reply in the thread.

Unfortunately I have no idea how to replicate the problem. Before doing the clean install of Windows I could not load MM at all. Now it's just a once-in-a-while occurrence.

When Next time Update MM try to Install it using Right click Run As Administrator.

Djshack kind of hijacked my post, but that's ok :D

When I run the skinned version elevated as administrator, it doesn't crash anymore. I guess that fixes it for the time being.
I would like to see it work without elevation some day, so I don't have to click through the UAC-mesage every time.
But there is no hurry.

Thanks for the tip.

Danichan,

We're kind of stumped--we're not seeing this behavior elsewhere. Can you try this and let us know the results?

1 Uninstall MediaMonkey
2 Delete whatever content remains of \Program Files\MediaMonkey (I want to make sure that no scripts are causing this behavior)
3 Re-install MM and run without elevating permissions

Thanks.

Well, I uninstalled Mediamonkey and deleted the entire folder. After that I installed release 1282 and let it run without elevation, crossed my fingers....but it crashed all the same....

I have the same problem. I tried clean registry, uninstal itunes, unistal and then instal MM. Nothing works.

Are you running the latest version (3.2), did you try removing d_iphone.dll?
