Hi,
Longtime MM user here.
Ever since I setup my new computer in Jan 2010 with Win7 64bit, I have been puzzled by the rather leisurely MM CD rip speeds I was getting. Typically, I was seeing 5 minute plus rip times. My CD/DVD writer is SATA and I had used other programs that appeared to rip at a much faster speed (I can actually hear the difference from the spin up sounds the drive makes).
Curiously, I just updated to build 1297 and all of sudden I am getting a 50% reduction in my rip speeds! This is a good thing.
I wanted to understand what changed so I looked at the bug fix list and all I could see is that a long standing bug in the handling of multi-media CD rips was addressed in build 1296.
So, the reason for this post is to alert the developers about this change in behavior so that they don't inadvertantly undo this "GOOD" change in a later build. Whatever changes were made when they touched this part of the code has had a beneficial result for me that I would like to maintain going forward.
Anyone that can shed further light on this would be very welcome!
Thanks.
