Sort order via DLNA different from normal [#8556]

Post by jmcc »

Hi - just noticed that when I view an album via Music/Artist & Album Artist/ArtistName/AlbumName I see the album in the correct track order (on the MM4 DLNA server machine), but if I look at the same tree via a DLNA client (either another MM4 DLNA client or a 3rd party client) it is in alphabetic order instead and there is no track# information. This is on build 1448.

Thanks
John

I have just tested this with MM 4.0.0.1448 and using both (PlugPlayer client, MM4 client) it shows the tracks correctly (sorted by Track#) for Music->Albums->AlbumName node.

EDIT: You are right that for the Music/Artist & Album Artist/ArtistName/AlbumName the sort order is different.

OK, but in these two paths it seems to be intended (it is same as in MM interface).

Using 4.0.3 build 1476 I'm not getting the right track order for 'Music/Artist & Album Artist/ArtistName/AlbumName'

Under 'Music/Artist & Album Artist/ArtistName' the tracks show in the correct order BUT when an album folder is selected the order is wrong. It's not alphabetical though... Seems a random order but it's the same each time.

Is this still an issue or is it something I'm doing wrong?

Ignore me... I'd not realised that I had the wrong sort order at track level!

All working fine.

i'm using MM 4.0.7 and have the same issue.

i've sorted all my music like <artist>\<album>\<track#>-<artist>-<title>.mp3
and in MM all is sorted along track#.

if i connect to MM mediaserver i see the tracks in the location directory in the correct order (track#)
but in the arist directory is all alphabetecally. thats a little bit wired.

when will this fixed?

and another thing:
can i hide unnecessary directorys like audiobooks on DLNA if i don't use them?

Tools > Options > Media Sharing allows you to select what is shared in the media server configuration.

aving the same issue, Music/Album Artist/Artist Name/Album Name will list tracks in alphabetical order on DNLA client. Track order is correct under Music/Album/Album Name as noted by Ludek, but searching by album name rather than artist is more difficult.

I'm unable to reproduce in MMA 156 and MMW 1652 Can you make screenshots?
