[4.0.3.1465/6] Sorting/grouping bug(s)

Re: [4.0.3.1465/6] Sorting/grouping bug(s)
I neglected to mention in either my post or this video that albums (that I've tested at least!) still play sequentially.
I hope this helps a bit!

Thanks for posting this video. Hopefully it gives a little more info to the devs so they can track down the bug.

gpzbc, i've tried to reproduce and cannot even with your DB. Can you PM me your playback rules masks (Options/Playback Rules and Ablum Art masks).

Re: [4.0.3.1465/6] Sorting/grouping bug(s)
Just an update on this: we're not able to reproduce this--even with gpzbc's db . If someone can figure out a set of steps to reproduce, please share...

Thank you for the update. I'll keep working on it. And maybe someone else will chime in.

Re: [4.0.3.1465/6] Sorting/grouping bug(s)
This is the most solid lead I can give to reproduce. Somehow, MM auto-selects to sort by "Artwork" and "Summary" and that is when not all of my albums are grouped correctly. See description below.
gpzbc wrote:I think I found part of the reason why this is happening. If you look at the column headers in the Kings of Leon shot, both "Artwork" and "Summary" are selected for sorting/grouping. And I didn't select "Artwork." It seems that when I click the "Entire Library" node, both columns (Artwork and Summary) get automatically selected for sorting. Here are some examples of what I mean.
This is after clicking on the "Entire Library" node. Notice both "Artwork" and "Summary" are automatically selected.
Now, if I simply go up and unselect "Artwork" then this is the result.
And I have double checked the tracks on that album and there don't seem to be any differences. (eg. Disc 2, track 7 is the same as disc 2, track 8.)

Re: [4.0.3.1465/6] Sorting/grouping bug(s)
EDIT: I just deleted my last post because I have refined the steps.
Here is something that seems to be more reproducible for me and my DB.
With MM open,
clear playlist.
collapse tree.
click on Entire Library.
Close MM.
Open MM (Entire Library should be showing)
Click on Playlists Node (browser window is empty because I haven't selected any specific playlist)
Click back on Entire Library.
Scroll down to Kings of Leon (or Jimi Hendrix) and you will see the bug.

Open a single file from Album with incorrect sort for Artwork, go to the Artwork tab, enable Apply to all files in the Album/Series, OK and refresh the view. Does it still sort incorrectly?

Re: [4.0.3.1465/6] Sorting/grouping bug(s)
Interesting. I tried exactly what you suggested. And it worked for a minute. In other words, when I hit Apply to all files.., then Ok, it automatically refreshed and it was grouped/sorted correctly. Then I hit F5 to refresh, and it went back to incorrect sorting/grouping. After that. I recreated my steps I described above and those albums are still sorted/grouped incorrectly. I have tried it three times and have had the same results.Lowlander wrote:Open a single file from Album with incorrect sort for Artwork, go to the Artwork tab, enable Apply to all files in the Album/Series, OK and refresh the view. Okay, then it would seem that Artwork itself isn't causing the issue, I thought it may have been a problem.

Reproduced. Tracked as 9345.

Re: [4.0.3.1465/6] Sorting/grouping bug(s)
I recreated these steps, except that currently my DB is displaying Artwork correctly. Don't forget the issue of tracks displaying in a disorderly fashion in the Properties dialog box, even though each album seems to have its own disorganised order.gpzbc wrote:EDIT: I just deleted my last post because I have refined the steps.
