after mm update, itunes can't read contents of iphone [#9360

This just happened after upgrading to the beta 4.0.5.1485. Itunes is 10.5.3.3. Should I go back to stable release? iPhone 4S 32G

BTW, thank you SO MUCH for getting the sync back from MM to iPhone. I did not enjoy the exercise of trying to get music to my iphone.

Just entirely removed iTunes and all associated Apple stuff, then re-installed and was able to finally restore my iPhone.

Be careful about adding content to iPhone from MM, as that seems to have had some affect. Once again, thanks for getting the updates in!!

I had the same with 1484 and I just reboot the phone and it was gone.

Let us know whther 4.0.5.1486 works fine for you or whether you are still experiencing an issue.

Got an iphone 3G, on the same version of MM as OP and am also getting this error.

Following a restore in itunes, even loading after transferring only one track to the phone in MM and returning to itunes, it says it cannot read the iphone and the only option is to perform another restore. I've not had this error in the past.

Yes, this was regression intoduced by fixing http://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=9360 and will be fixed in the next build (1498)

OK great, glad it's been identified/sorted, will just hold off using mm with my iphone until the next release comes out.

btw, I should point out that I am not on iOS5 as the 3G only updates to 4.2.1
