MM won't delete playlists not in AutoSync List

I have an ipod Touch and an iPod Classic. Despite the fact that I've set up my Auto-sync options to delete files not on the Auto-sync list, MM deletes the files but not the playlists on either device. MM does present to me the files that SHOULD be deleted for confirmation (as I've configured), but it leaves them on the device, even if I've confirmed that the playlists should be removed.

I can't reproduce it on an iPod mini or iPhone. If I deselect the playlists which are selected in the auto-sync options under auto-sync list tab, then the playlists are always deleted.
