MP4 Track number using different column "#"

Postby jammer21 » Tue Jul 31, 2012 1:24 am

Hi, I am trying to organize some MP4s, they show up in the Windows 7 details as having a track number in the field marked simply "#". When I try to use the # field (not track #) in MM it will not show the column when I try to choose columns. It will let me check the column "#" but when I do the column will not show in MM and if I go back to it, it is again unchecked. I have the newest 4.0.6.1501 version (Gold). This is unacceptable as the music video company that supplies my videos uses the field "#" apparently instead of track # and I need to rename the tracks based on # and the title and artist. Any ideas?

# field in MediaMonkey is not a tag field instead an order in the list field. It would seem that the problem lies with the company using the wrong tag.

If the filenames contain the Track# value you can use Auto-Tag from Filename to get them into the Track# field in MediaMonkey: http://www.mediamonkey.com/wiki/index.p ... lename/4.0
If you can sort the files correctly in MediaMonkey you can use Tools > Scripts > Auto-Increment Track #s to populate the Track# field.

Thanks for the help, no track number would show up in the field track# but when windows 7 explorer reads the mp4 from the disk (DFF) dvd the mp4 details will show the column "#" with a value for each mp4, but for some reason won't translate into anything on MM. Like there is a field missing or something. But I just renamed the tracks with new track numbers using the auto-increment. Thanks for the response, although something is still not right here, I would like the track numbers to correspond with the actual track numbers on the dvd in the future if I get another disk like this.

MediaMonkey can read Track# if it properly saved in the file: http://www.mediamonkey.com/wiki/index.p ... erties/4.0
