Snap Judgement Podcast Locks Up Media Monkey

Post by PodcastPoser »

Windows 7 Home Premium
Media Monkey 4.1.5.1719

For the past 3-4 weeks whenever I download the latest Snap Judgement Podcast through Media Monkey, the download completes then Media Monkey hangs. I cannot click elsewhere, I click the 'X' to close the application and Windows prompts asking if I search for a solution, close the application, or wait for the application to respond. In this same prompt, can expand for details - Details are:

Description:
A problem caused this program to stop interacting with Windows.

I choose 'Close the Application' - Have waited 5+ minutes, sometime the App returns color (not grayed/whited out) but as soon as I click returns to frozen (grayed/whited out).

After the force closed via Windows the next time I start MM it launches and display MM but almost immediately afterwards enters the same frozen/unresponsive state.

Find and delete the last Snap Judgment episode using Windows Explorer, MM now launches without issue, returns back to this behavior as soon as one of the more recent Snap Judgement Podcast episodes are downloaded again.

Podcast Feed: http://www.npr.org/templates/rss/podcast.php?id=510294

I have a feeling it is related to MM and Tagging - When I view the downloaded episode in Mp3tag it shows (ID3v1 !BAD ID3v2), also for an episode that was released 20150213-14 the date shows 2010, Title/Album fields have random number and colon prepended on them (150244:)

I have tried with both 'On download, tag episodes based on data from Podcast feed' checked & unchecked - No change, same results of a frozen/unresponsive MM.

While building this post I left Media Monkey in the frozen state for well over 15 minutes and Media Monkey finally prompted it has encountered an error and was able to send off the error report to Media Monkey. I provided my E-mail address in that report so hopefully I get feedback soon.

Still going to submit this in case others are experiencing something similar - My searches return nothing similar.

This probably is fixed in build 1629 (will be in Beta forum when made available): http://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=12546
