mass block converting to mp3

Post by rovingcowboy »

I'm noticing that with 8 gb ram 4 cpus on win 7 mm still has a slow down effect that happens when converting 1000 + songs to mp3. Even with all priorities set in real-time including the decoder's priority. This is not much of a slow down at 1000 songs but with 13000 songs you do notice it the more it gets converted. Its almost like the ram is filling up with the song files after being converted. But if they are saved in a folder afterwards while mm converts the next one why would the ram fill up.
in addition it really does not fill the ram but the slow down resembles it. So what would be causing this. And if it is doing it to other formats I am not sure. :-?
oh I'm using "Lame's 64 bit Windows encoder."
