<Album-Artist:1> will be restored as "-1R" i

Just use the rename option and build a mask like

".\<album-artist:1>\<album-artist>\<filename>" or so.

With ok the file is moved properly :-)

returning to the dialog the just entered mask appears back in a changed manner:

".\-1R\<album-artist>\<filename>"

which obviously won't work as originally desired.

This problem doesn't appear when using "<artist:1>\<artist>\..." instead.

BTW: the length modifying option is really great for doing things like this.

(MM version 2.2.2.780, but with german UI, thus the text reads "<album-interpret")

I can confirm that this is a problem with the German translation - '-' sign makes problem. We'll correct it in the next release.

Thanks,

Localization issue to be aware of

Post by rusty »

I moved this to the Localization forum so that translators are aware of this issue. I'll update the localization instructions with a warning about this.

Question:

There are dashes ('-') in the original English .po-files, like in "Auto-Synchronization". Does that produce problems, too? I of course try to avoid using dashes, but it's hard because in German you use them fairly often and strings generally get longer if I have to avoid them.

No, this doesn't cause any problem. Translators can generally use any character unless the string is used for a special purpose. This can be:
- Masks (<artist>, <album>, ...)
- Labels (where '&' has different meaning)
- string with %d or %s (these have to be preserved).

Oh, all raaaaight - I totally didn't get it, sorry. It's only about masks-entries. Jeez, I should have read the thread more careful.

Thanks and excuse the DAUism.
