when checking the changes on the page use the show button not the save button, the save button adds pages to the archive each time you click it.

Is there a way to delete those pages from the archive?

i don't know could be but not by us users i think some one that was allowed to be moderator has to do it.

the rest of us also put lots of pages on the first time we got there. 8) but guest is correct in trying to cut back on it before all 10,000 members post like that boy would that fill up the archive? :roll:

There isn't, but don't worry about it. Just use the preview button in the future and try to make as many edits at once as possible.
