Different background image (colour) for the player

Post by MoDementia »

Is this possible ?

If not, is a request to add the option unreasonable?

I'm not quite sure what you mean. The background color of the player is whatever you set the image to.

Ohh - sorry for misunderstanding!

Yes, its already possible. You change this color in the theme.mskn - Form\Client (or MainForm\Client, depending on the skin).

You can do that as well. Copy 'Form' and paste it under objects. Rename it from 'CopyofForm' to 'MainForm'. You can set the 'MainForm\Client' to the color behind your player, and set 'Form\Client' to whatever you want to be in your options pane/other dialogs. Check out Glided or 5thGen for examples.

Well, no, not exactly. MainForm is exactly what it says it is - the main form. It will affect most of everything you see (borders, system buttons like close, max, min, etc). Form will only affect options screens and other various dialogs.

I can't imagine making the boders, system buttons, etc different from the options screens etc but I'm wondering if there is then an example where the green/pink client might show up where it's not wanted?

I have opened a few dialogs etc and can see no trace of green/pink anywhere so far :)

So let me rephrase the question

MainForm Client only affects the player area if there is a Form --> Client ?

I think I can answer this.
Beacuse most forms/panels auto adjust to fill the frame the background won't be seen anywhere else, yes?

MainForm affects only the regular MM screen that you are used to seeing.

Form will affect all dialog screens (options, add/rescan, properties, etc)

nohitter151 this can be done with using layering in the image program.
put a blue shape object behind the player image making sure the blue is wider and higher then the player background image.

so the pink will fade on to the blue if it is dithered.
then you make the cross hairs in the theme editor to show on the blue area around the player image, thus having the the light blue frame around it.
if the client background is wanted to be different make an active bitmap on it in the theme editor and set it to the size you want.
it will of course not be expandable but it will allow you to change the client image for only that one client.
