i thought you knew what it was but had to make sure,
and the thing is still showing white? :(

check the scroll object in the theme's mskn file. look for the NC item listed in there. the old theme's from mm 2 did not have it. so they show up white. just copy the object for the nc area out of another theme mskn file from an real mm 3 skin and paste it in the scroll object in the skins theme mskn you need the item in.
then it should show up as you have the image set, as long as you also put the theme's image map in the mskn file for the theme.
or map out an other image for it to use. but unless that nc area is in the scroll object it wont show up. :)

you remember how i said to copy things in the theme engine in the other posts?
simple there is a copy and paste button in the theme engine.

open the mskn file of the skin that has the nc area colored cause it has it in the right place.
then go to the scroll object in the tree.
expand it,
select the nc area item in the list go to the copy button on the theme engine its in top middle.
then click on open to get the browse window to go to the other skins file. don't save anything since
you did not change it just copyied the item from that one your closing.
now browse to your other skin open the theme mskn for it and the same scroll object, select the scroll object
now go to the paste button on the theme engine. click it.
now you have the item in your skin, but you got to go change the name by taking the "copyof " words off the name, you know that it is in the right code window of the screen.
then make sure the bitmap is found for that and save and you got it working in the skin.

:)

just checked my skins and looks like i also just got the mm 2 theme mskn copied over in to some of them,
so looks like i got a couple skin updates to do just to get rid of that white nc area,
i should have copied the files from one of the real mm3 skins i did instead of one of the mm 2 converts,? now i got more work to do. oh well? maybe i will wait until mm 3.1 is out with the better skinning engine then i can add in some new features to the skins too. :)

Okay, I've been test driving this skin since it came out and here are my thoughts:

The player is truly brilliant. It's small profile, sleekness and wealth of information puts it far and away ahead of any other skin's player that I've tried. For some reason I can't move it which would make it perfect but that's a minor disadvantage.

The tagging screen when using Ctrl-L still has some issues but I believe that to be a MM3 limitation rather than a skin problem.

For anyone liking a dark look, give this skin a try. It's truly a masterpiece. :)

Greetings

Thanks Vyper, yes the player is dock at bottom,.I like also movable players but at moment i got no plans to change this for design ressons!

The tagging screen: i noted this also, this will be fixed in version 1.0

and don,t call it masterpiece,it's just the Results of my attempt to create a nice skin, and i am still learnig.
And my thanks go out to the Devs and other skinners
who make something like this possible.

but tell me what do you think about the font colores
sometimes i think there are to bright,

maybe more like this.

will be available for Noir v 1.0

Hello DreadM.
Are the colors of the fonts in your screenshots( monkey rock, ...)
the same that would apply to the library pane and now playing pane?

Cause on my screen, the fonts on your screenshots look too dark. (making it difficult to read because of too little contrast)

I agree though that the current fonts could be darker.

Imao something in between these and the current ones would be perfect.

greetings

I actually meant to say 'masterpiece in the making' but I somehow forgot to finish the sentence.

Hmmm ..... the text in both MonkeyRok skins is so dark it's almost unreadable. How would I make it the same as the main skin?

Open "Scripts\MonkeyRok\skins\animated_noir\skin.css" file in Notepad and replace all occurrences of ...
Code: Select all
#333333 by #555555
#666666 by #888888

You're done!
