@skuffin - It's possible to modify the background color, but text color can only be the same for all panels (skin limitation).
You can modify the background color of the Tree and Track Lists. (Tools|Options|Skin)
Use any personalized bitmap file (.bmp), or create your own:
In this case, since text color is white, background must be dark enough. Here are two samples:

If you like, download the bitmap files, save them to MediaMonkey\Skins\ directory. Modify them with Paint, or create your own.

Use latest Helium gDark v1.2.1 to prevent a white background on the Tree when not overrided.
