Skip/Pause in songs on cd after being burnt with MM

Post by Sebastian78 »

I have burn a couple of CD's with mediamonkey and have notived that there is a "skip" or pause in the midle of some songs. In no apparent corrolation or at the same place in a song, there is a 1 second pause/skip.

This does not happen in Nero 7, my other "burn cd's for my car" program....

I just click the burn icon, everything works perfect, no hickups, no error messages and the cd comes out like it should. The cd's were "high price" cd's as well.

I run:

Win MCE SP2
Intel T2400
1GB Mem

It was an Audio CD..

The drive is : HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GMA-4082N (I have a Toshiba Satellite P100)..

It has happened on several cd's (just started using MM for this) and havent tried it on 2.5.5 yet.

Try it now it should be official one.
I remembered that there was some updates during 2.5.5 release process.

I am new to Media Monkey and I am also having this exact problem. Media Monkey version I have installed is 2.5.5.996. Does anyone know if this problem is supposed to be resolved yet? I really like everything so far about Media Monkey except I can't burn a CD without a skip or drop out in one the tracks.

Skip/Pause in songs on cd after being burnt with MM

Post by dandy »

When MM burns an Audio CD-R from MP3 files, the resulting CD-R has pauses in some songs. It is definately related to MM CD-R burn. Because if I use MM to recreate the CD-R the pause occurs in the same exact spot.

Note:
The original MP3 plays without the pause in MM, but when burned to CD-R somethning in the MM decode/encode process causes a pause on the cd-r.

I've experienced the problem with these MM versions:

2.5.1.934
2.5.4.978
2.5.5.998

This is very frustrating after I download MP3's and verify they play cleanly in MM, only to find out that after buring a playlist to CD-R it is flawed. A reburn results in the same skip at the same exact spot. Definately a MM bug.

Here's the workaround. Assuming MM decoder has trouble with the specific MP3, I download another MP3 having a different size (hoping that MM will process it without issue) and verify that it plays cleanly, then use MM to burn the single song to a CD-RW, and listen to the song for pauses. If not found, then I cleanup tags, copy this version over the old mp3, and reburn playlist to CD-R. PINTA.

This needs to be fixed.

Bah, I'd run into this problem a few releases ago and had forgotten about it. I just burnt 3 CD-R's and they all have 1 pause/skip in one of their songs (all different albums).

I'm on 2.5.5.998. Looks like it's back to Nero for creating audio CDs.
