Is there a way to randomize a playlist?

Post by electroglyph »

I just want to re-organize my playlist randomly, is there a way to do that in MM? I don't need a way to do it on the fly while it's playing, just for a playlist, thanks.

Hi, all! Long-time user, first post.

I wanted to share how I burn MP3 CDs that play in playlist order.

Some MP3 players don't support M3u playlists, such as my Cambridge Soundworks clock radio. When I burn an MP3 disk, it plays all the Accoustic Alchemy, then all the Amanda McBroom, etc.

After you've got your playlist ready, click the first track then hold the Shift key while pressing the Down arrow. MM shows in the bottom left how many MB the selected tracks use when you release the Down arrow. About 700 MB fills a CD.

Right click and select Send To > CD/DVD (Burn)

On the third window in the CD/DVD Burning Wizard, in the Disc Format field, enter <Auto Number>-<Title> and uncheck Burn playlist tracks to.

This prepends the track number in the playlist to each file name and puts them all in the root folder of the CD. This causes the tracks to play in playlist order. :D
