Why are all of the simple things missing???

Post by wwfc69 »

Hi i just purchased MM gold,

I impressed at the structure and advanced tools incorporated in t hye programme but they seem toi have overlooked the extremely basic things that other programmes have down to a T.

For example the major problem in my view is that vene thought there have been many threads for many months discussing the problem with the syncing function when it just copies the whole library on to the portable even though you just want it to sync the newly added ones. Maybe some one could tell us whow to set up an auto playlist that just contains the recentrrly added tracks like on itunes so it contains only the tracks you added that day to aqnd tell us how to sync with an auto playlist.

Also the display is extremely over crowded and unless you are extremely advanced with the technical aspects of media players then the help function isn't very helpfull at all becuase its searches in help do not allways come up with the correct data.

Also when dragging a number of tracks at once into the library form limewire for example it doesn't read alot of the taglines properly and leaves the majority of fields blankven htough they obviously do contain the artist, album etc....

In addition why doesn't the library folder show the library instead of have to use the sub folders all of the time?????

And finally, can some one produce a media monkey basic usewr guide or video for those who do not fully understand the advanced/basic features of mm/mmgold and provide a jargon buster tthreead for those who don't undersand some of the avbrieviations and words used in these threads such as MTP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

PLEASE HELP

DAN    :P 8) :o :( :)

1)
Isn't Limewire illegal?

2)
Uncheck the "Modify timestamp when updating tags" option and it doesn't sync the whole library.

3)
MTP is the transfer protocol some of the Plays For Sure players use.

4)
It's designed how many players used to be before WM11 (even WM9/10 used to be like this). The GUI isn't the strongest part of the application. It's the features and components that are with the program and can be added to it that make it shine. It's the same reason I love SageTV.

5)
You can use the Auto Tag from filename option to fix that. Also, buying the songs legally avoids much of this.

maybe this

tools -> options -> library -> tags&playlists -> create playlists of tracks newly added to the library

On the tree on the left panel, right click "Playlists"

Then click "New Autoplaylist..." and type "Recently Added" then press "OK"

Click "Advanced" tab then "<Add Search Criteria...>"

In "Property" and scroll down to "Added" and then choose whatever date you want it to be from.

Then you'll be set.
