@DreadM : I did not read the whole thread but why did you choose a flashy purple for your main color? Blue would have been easier on the eyes.

It's funny how people see colors differently. This player sure looks blue to me. This coming from someone whose favorite color is purple.

if there is a problem with them updating when switching skins, and it's not something under the skinner's control, then it really, really needs to be fixed by the devs. If a skin package includes it's own no album art image, it should update when switching from one skin to another. To be fair, I never noticed the behavior before SongbirdSkin but maybe it's been happening all along.

Totally agree with that. Which is why I tend to just use my own (or probably more truefully, Gege's. EDIT: or was it from nohitters logo for Rocket Dock... ) Custom no art:

But, the Eclipse No Art is pretty cool. So I do not want the custom at the moment.

yes the icon mmip overwright the icons in the iconfolder,
but when you change skin you can uninstall the Eclipse icons and albumart under
Tools/Extensions/Uninstall/Eclipse icon pack/restart MM


I chose the color because looks good to me (i am a bit color Blind)

@spacefish : yeah you'll lose'em if you delete them. See THIS thread to understand why I did it this way. And DreadM icon's mmip will create the same problem. Actually if you download and run his mmip with album art icon, it will override the songbird's.

You can also rename the Icon folder to IconsOFF or IconsSongbird so that you can use them later. Then install the Eclipse Icons, you may have to re-start the Monkey to see the changes take effect.

I wouldn't worry about it. It's probably just that we distinguish colors differently.

About two percent of females and eight percent of males are color blind (Sewell, 1983). The reason males are at a greater risk of inheriting an X linked mutation is because males only have one X chromosome (XY), and females have two (XX). In color blindness caused by mutations on the X chromosome there is a 50% chance of male offspring being affected and a 50% chance of female offspring being carriers. Nature usually deals with mutated genes by expressing the healthy copy in offspring. Males only receive one copy and are therefore more vulerable to mutations on the X chromosome being passed to them by their mothers. If the X chromosome passed to a male carries a color blindness causing mutation then the male will be color blind because there is no chance of another X chromosome silencing the mutation. If one of the X chromosomes of a female carries the gene for color blindness, generally the other will not, so there is a dominant gene to take the place of the recessive one.

Was wondering about the HaHa and realized that Purple rain was highlighted. Totally unintended. weird....

But, it made me notice something else weird:
If you look at the ratings in the player it is showing the song as 4.5 stars and if you look at Now Playing it is showing as 5 stars.

Has anyone else seen this???

It seems to be totally reproducible. As I type, a song is playing and the player is showing showing 3 stars for what is showing as 3.5 in Now Playing.
Do not know if it is related, but my entire library has been given over to auto rate accurate.
