I tried everything for finding more information to debug the problem, but I couldn't. So I just repeat all facts, maybe I forgot to write down an important information in the last posts...

* iTunes (7.7) is calculating all covers correctly (disabling the "use album covers" option, synchronizing, enabling the function, synchronizing again)

* MediaMonkey is doing fine as well with all audio files, but the video files (which have been added to the iPod by iTunes long time ago and no tag or anything else have been changed using the Mediamonkey) don't keep their original thumbnail icons. When adding some music, a video file "randomly" gets an album cover instead of it's original cover. When doing a full "Rebuild Database" on the Mediamonkey, definitely all covers of the video files are wrong!

Maybe the infos for the videos files can give a hint?

The iTunes setting have been set as proposed:

This issue is really annoying, because changing just one single song with the MediaMonkey on my iPod means that I must do a full sync with iTunes to get my video icons in order...

This still happens with the Released version. Most of the time mine seems to trigger when Itunes wants to analyze volume :( So now i just don't use MM to touch my ipod touch which of course makes me sad.

Yes wuzfuzzy, I've the same problem :(

...and that's why I did this crazy screenshots - maybe someone find a point (e.g. all my video files have "no cover" in iTunes) to do further investigations. I would also upload one of my video files - maybe it's something magic inside them :-?

I have this problem since the first beta and some other users have the same issues. Yesterday I only added ONE single mp3 file to my iPod with the MediaMonkey and again the video thumbnails where mixed up. So I had to rebuild all icons by iTunes (takes around 30 minutes)...

I keep confirming this bug since quite some weeks. It still is there (but unfortunatly my Ipod Touch isn't - got stolen so I can't test further right now).

Thanks for the discussion. I don't use MM, I was googling the problem when I came on your problems. I am having the same problem and I dont use MM, I thought that might be useful to you guys. It all started for me when I installed 2.0 on my touch.

Thanks

Don't using MM means iTunes? Or even something else?

I don't know, how iTunes handles this stuff, I think thumbnails are created and a pointer is set for each video file. If it works like this, the main question would be, if these pointers are changed when synchronizing things (with the MM) or the thumbnails will be overwritten...

Does anyone know, if this problem will be solved in the future?
Is it possible to reproduce this behaviour?
Do you need more informations?
Anything else?
Beep?

Did you get a new one already?!

The problem is still present (3.0.5.1190) and that means I have to start iTunes after having used the MediaMonkey :(

Hmm,

seems that the programmers have "fixed" the problem months ago (see http://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=4476), anyhow my iPod classic does not now that already :(

There is also this fix included in the 3.1 beta version (not yet included in 3.0.6.1190): http://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=4756

Hey, these are (hopefully) good news!
I thought, I'll wait a while before testing the 3.1 beta, but now I can't wait longer

Now I've installed the new 3.1 beta because ALL problems with mixing artworks should have been fixed :-?

But this is NOT true, the thumbnails for video clips get mixed up and will be replaced by artwork of music covers when using the MediaMonkey

So is is still the same what I have to do :(
Using the MediaMonkey means, that I have to start iTunes and reorganize all artworks again or to change something within each video (e.g. changing the name leads iTunes to create the displayed icon using the first frame of the video)

That's horrible, I have around 100GB of music and 20GB of video clips on my iPod classic and that means a lot of time for calculating all thumbnails again and again and again...

I am sorry to say, but even the actual beta of the MediaMonkey (3.1.0.1215) have still the same problems with video artworks on the iPod, what means after rebuilding the database, all videos get randomly chosen music covers instead of the video thumbnail :(
