I've found time at long last to update the NouveauDark skin and here's version 2.0 which includes things such as revised look/feel, unique icon set, skins for MonkeyRok/Lyrics Viewer/Song Information Panel, and a combination of player/mini-player sizes to fit todays screens/notebooks, etc.

The Inspiration for this skin came from DreadM's 'Noir' skin and full credit and thanks should go to him for providing an excellent base to work from.

Thanks also to those who answered requests on this forum for help and clarification whilst I was trying to get my head around the Theme Editor.

@Bex and justin_f I've put a link to a .mmip installer in the original post as you suggested. The player isn't movable at the moment as this seems to present a few problems with the graphics when it re-sizes to fit in various panels. I believe DreadM had similar problems with his Noir skin (that also has a fixed position). Now that the main leg-work of designing the skin is over I'll take a closer look to see what could be done to make the player movable. It may mean a slight change to the player layout.

@DreadM Two minds working on similar wavelengths!!! I've been following your comments regarding panel borders and I saw the scrollbar design/constant background colour as a way of disguising the problem. Clearly you saw it too. Nice looking skin btw..I look forward (as always) to the finished product.

If the skin proves popular I was thinking of producing a couple of different coloured variants (blue, red etc.).

i seen some nice ideas.
but in locking the player at the bottom of the theme. its limited to those that only use that style of screen.

yes the player will grab the images when you undock it to move it around.
that is a long time error in the skin. but it can be fixed. and or made less noticeable

go back through you codes in the ini file and make sure you don't have any overlapping locations for things.
over lapping will cause some troubles. i know theres none when it is stretched out. but make the project working skin one that will be stretchable to the left and right. then make it as short to the left as you can and check for the overlapping in the codes. and also some messing with the 0,0,0,0 code of certain items can fix some things.
and mess it up best way to see what can be done is by checking it out. but remember that you are to have fun doing them and you will do good.

Thanks RC, I'll look at any overlaps asap.

However, I've made a couple of quick tweaks and now unlocked the player. Whilst it doesn't look it's best in some reduced sized panels, it looks and reacts no differently to other themes that I've tested.

The only thing that would be needed is a small player version if one was to want to place the player in a very small panel such as under the navigation tree....(adds another job to the to-do list.)

The link in the top post now points at the movable player version.

in looking at your last screen shots i see you got the buttons and the eq image off the player in the small size.

that is telling me you did not make the center section to slide. if you make that to slide you can keep the whole player skin with all the buttons. you will of course be limited in the smaller size to about 750 wide it looks like but
making the center section slide will lose some of the room and make the titles scroll but the users of the skin that put it in the smaller panels expect. that way of operation.

in doing that you then come in to the overlapping issue i said. so you got to make sure that does not happen.

you can make the title scroll area 25 pixels wide and then tell it to stretch with the 0,1,1,1 code that will give you more room in the player skin on the other side, but then you start needed to fix buttons and stuff on the left so they don't stretch but stay in their place. but every thing as you know has to fit in the set size of the skin by the player's skin code which is at top in the ini file. all that is basic just reminding you.

I really like this skin. It has become one of my favorites. I'd love to see it in more colors.

One suggestion, maybe you can make the scroll bars a slightly different shade or outline them just to give the skin some more clearly defined areas. The tree kind of flows into the main panel and playlist since there's nothing between them that marks the boundaries. Know what I'm saying?

Nice colors, CoachUK.
I particularly like the red one.
It would be great if more parts of the skin were also red. Like the menu, tab bars, text selection, etc.

But you did a great job for a first skin. There's place for amelioration, Like Valis suggested.
One thing I've noticed is the Eject button (Open File) should be a Button, not a StateButton.

@Eyal - Thanks for your comments and suggestions. I'll look at incorporating as many changes/suggestions as I can when I produce an update to the skin. I see what you mean about the eject button and I'll incorporate that too.
