Resize album art when syncing to device

Postby nohanda » Sun Mar 22, 2009 11:33 pm

Currently there is an option to remove artwork if it is larger than a set size - would it be too hard to have the option of resizing the artwork when syncing?

I am asking because my album art is corrupted in iPod touch - I think due to too large album art as covered here:

I want to keep higher resolution art on my computer but don't want to remove album art completely when syncing.

I found a couple of posts about it here:

I think it has been requested before and it's a good idea.

I've been thinking on post this wish for a long time.
In my case, this is important due to the fact that Symbian based cell phones (All Nokias, some LG, Sony Ericsson and so on) are able to display AlbumArt in their MP3 players, only if image in tag has less than 100KB.
Most of my AlbumArt is 600x600px, with filesize varying from 150KB up to 200KB. Resizing AlbumArt "on the fly' to 300x300px, for example, would reduce tag size a lot and image would be correctly displayed in Player.
