MM on external drive
I'd like to put all my music on an external hdd, and install MM to that drive so that I'll have a completely portable solution. When I create the library, I'm guessing it will use absolute paths to whatever the drive letter currently is for that drive. Is there a way around this? Can I use relative paths? If so, what files need to be reconfigured?
Re: MM on external drive
I think relative paths wont work for the purpose.
The problem with external devices is that Windows gives a letter id in the order they are connected.
So eg. your drive may be E: when connected first, but F: when connected after another device.
What you can do to circumscribe this is use Disk Management to allocate a fixed drive letter to your drive (ex. M:) so it wont change when connected.
