If you don't have iTunes installed, MediaMonkey will not recognize your device.

I have gone through the process in iTunes to use MM to load mp3 files onto my Touch.
While in MM, the program shows the Touch has the files transfered from the library to the Touch.
When I disconnect the Touch and attempt to play music on the Touch, it says that there is no music to play.
Back in MM, looking at the Touch library, the path for a given mp3 file is: \iTunes_Control\Music\F12\Gene.mp3
How can I get my Touch to recognize the files when it isn't connected to my pc and MM?
...edit....
Some more info:
I found the following here: If MediaMonkey is synching to the iPod in a manner that may not
be compatible with more recent versions of iPod firmware. To solve
this, go to the iPod Device Configuration panel (Tools | Options |
Portable/Audio Devices | iPod | Configure), and then under
'Compatibility Settings' enable 'Force iTunes-style Folders'.
I tried doing this. I got as far as the configure part, but there was no 'compatibility settings' or 'enable itunes style folder' option.
Also, when I went to portable/audio device, there were 4 listings of my Touch.

Problem with copying file C:\<file path/filename.mp3> to E:\iPod_COntrol\Music\F21\<abbreviated filename.mp3>
I am then prompted to click either Cancel, Retry or Ignore
If I click Retry, sometimes it takes 2 to 10 times, but it appears to transfer. Are these caused by incompatible file types? If it is just a matter of Retrying several times, could that be scripted? Or could MM be shoving data at my iPod faster than it can be written?
I am a new user of MM and purchased the full version. I love it so far, with this minor exception.
Thanks for any input!

It started to happen after I formatted my pc and reinstalled mediamonkey and itunes.
I had the same version of MM before the format and it worked fine, while I'm pretty sure I updated my itunes version.
I don't get to click any cancel or retry button, my pc shuts down about 2 seconds after the message appears.
I completely removed MM and installed version 3.0.7.1191 wich seems to do the job altough it's a lil buggy in general.
I hope you will find out what the problem is and fix this in the next versions. Or maybe it's just a problem of my pc configuration. I have no idea, I just hope it'll get worked out soon

I would like to ask, whether it is possible to synchronize ratings back from my ipod (nano last gen) to my library while using manual synchronization...?
I have a feeling that it does sometimes sync, but I would like to know how to do it, where is the point...
Thanks for any reply..

Sure, happy to help. If you think about it, auto-sync has to be required for sync-back of information... because only with auto-sync is a link kept between the original file in your library and the file on your device. With manual sync it is just a blind copy.

It used to be synced with my desktop computer, but i managed to sync it to my new laptop before last xmas, then my computer got a virus and everything had to be deleted and i forgot my itunes password. Either way, my itunes won't sync my iPod anymore.
I downloaded media monkey and i attempted to sync it follwing the steps in your guid, but it just completely wiped everything off my ipod.
WHY?! WHAT DO?!
